Purpose
This section will determine possible risks and describe control interventions to guarantee the safety of all the participants in the Elizabeth Farm site study. The strategy is in line with NSW Department of Education and WHS.

Potential Risks and Control Measures
1. Uneven ground or steps
Students can fall or slip during walking.
➡️ Control: Monitor every pedestrian path, footwear and make students use handrails.
2. Outdoor weather conditions
Possibility of sunburn, heat exhaustion or dehydration.
➡️ Control: Use sunscreen, put on hats, carry water bottles and sleep in the shade.
3. Insects or plants
Potential allergic or insect bites.
➡️ Control: Recommend that the students do not touch unknown plants, and they should have a first-aid kit with allergy medication in case.
4. Pieces of furniture and historical artefacts.
Artefacts could be delicate and hazardous to touch.
️➡️ Control: Only to be handled under supervision of the staff and strengthen the museum etiquette.
5. Roads and car park areas
Potential danger of road accidents.
➡️ Control: Oversee every crossing, walk on the specified pedestrian lanes, and have a buddy system.
6. Crowding or behavioural problems.
Students can be injured or trampled through crowds.
➡️ Control: Strengthen expectations of behaviour and have a ratio of teacher to student of 1:10.
7. Risks of health or infection (e.g., COVID-19).
Potential spread of illness.
➡️ Control: Promote hand hygiene, prevent unjustifiable touching of surfaces, and hygiene standards.
